The Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony, Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance, Latin Americans United for Progress, churches, and other groups held a Community Unity Potluck September 21, 2008, to support the Robinson family of Park Township, whose driveway was defaced with racial slurs on August 17; to appreciate cultural diversity; and to commit to anti-racism efforts. Several hundred people attended the event, which featured speakers, entertainment, food vendors, and a wonderful potluck. Marvin Younger, ACEH president, was a terrific master of ceremonies. A community pledge, Not Here. Not Now. Not Ever Again., signed by more than 2,600 people, was presented to Avelock and Darla Robinson and their children by Ann Weller of ACEH.
